- What it looks like
- Raised triangular/pointed wedges or godet-like bulges (half-peaks at edges, full peaks centre) in contrast colours, separated by thin ground stripes; more stable than open peaks.
- How it behaves
- Pointed bulges, medium–strong.
- How it works
- Short-row a peak (hold 1 needle per row on one or both sides, then return 1 per row); then lift the last ground row over the shaped area (or full row), closing the back.
- Machines
- Single bed + hold.
- Parameters
- section widths (e.g. 15 / centre ~20 / 15); shaping rows 10 out + 10 back; divider 2 rows; lift partial or full.
- Steps
- 1) Edge half-peak right (hold 1 per row on inner side). 2) Carriage across. 3) Mirror half-peak left. 4) Knit across; lift ground row over peaks. 5) Centre full peak (hold 1 each side per pass down to 2, then back). 6) Lift; 2 divider rows. Repeat.
- Charting
- Triangle shapes per partial-knit chart with an arrow bracket at side meaning "lift whole section".
- Limits and common problems
- Forgetting to move carriage/yarn to correct side; tension at hold edges.
- Combines with
- colour per peak.
- Pieces and assembly
- Stable enough for panels.
