Punch card designer for knitting machines
Draw a 24-stitch punch card for Fair Isle, tuck, slip or weaving, see how it repeats across the bed, and print a punching template at real size.
How it works
- Open Purlbed and choose New punch card.
- Pick the technique (Fair Isle, tuck, slip or weaving) and draw the holes on the 24-stitch grid.
- Check the preview of the repeat across 200 needles.
- Print the 1:1 PDF at 100 % (the bar at the top must measure 100 mm) or download the Cricut cut file, then punch or cut the card.
What you get
- A card of any length, 24 stitches wide, saved in your browser.
- A preview of the pattern over 200 needles, so you see the repeat before punching.
- A 1:1 A4 PDF punching template and a Cricut SVG with the outline and holes in millimetres.
- A note per technique on what a hole means: contrast yarn for Fair Isle, a knitting needle for tuck and slip.
Which machines
For single-bed punch-card machines that read a 24-stitch card, such as Brother KH-820/821, KH-836, KH-860, KH-881, KH-891 and Silver Reed SK-280. A 24-stitch card does not fit 12-stitch bulky machines such as the Silver Reed SK-155. Machine types
